Following the various occasions of March, Al Elmiyyi School held an event in the association’s schoolyard.
The ceremony was attended by the head of the Makassed Charitable Association in Nabatieh, the members of the board of directors, the Principal of Al-Sabah Public School, the headmasters of all the Makassed schools along with members of the students’ families and the schools’ administrative and educational staff.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem followed by the Association’s Anthem, then a presentation by Ms. Amal Shukroun. After that, there was a speech by the Principal of Al Elmiyyi School, Mrs. Nohad Shmeisani, who addressed the students and their parents with heart-felt words.
The President of the Association, Eng. Hassan Shaheen, also delivered a speech in which he carried a message to the students’ families. He said: “We bear the responsibility of your children, and it is indeed a huge one. We believe that your children are like our own and thus we will do all what is needed in order to give your kids the proper education. It is well known how education is the cornerstone of a better future and I do hope that you follow up with your kids at home because your cooperation is essential in order to set the grounds for a prosperous future for our children.”
Then, the students delivered various performances including plays and songs inspired by the occasion.
In the end, honorary shields were awarded to Eng. Hassan Shaheen and the Principal of Al Elmiyyi School, Mrs. Nohad Shmeisani.
